Great news, fellow Planners!
We have finally made a huge leap forward and have improved the duplication of Tasks in the timeline – you can now just hold down either CTRL (Windows, Linux) or CMD (Mac) key and then click-and-drag a task in the timeline – you’ll see that the original task is still where it was and you are dragging a new task – nice, isn’t it? The old duplicate-button in task view is still there, of course, if you’d prefer to use that. As always, all this information can also be found in our Knowledge Base.

Another very big improvement is the inclusion of Basecamp (Next) integration. You can now import all your projects, clients and team from Basecamp into Planner; todo-lists and todo-items are also imported. Head over to our Knowledge Base for instructions!
As always, please do report any issues you find. Happy Planning!
We have released a new version of Planner today with some long requested improvements. Here’s the shortlist:
- You can now change the color and the initials of your Planner profile “picture” (instructions).
- You can also assign initials and color to read-only users as well (instructions).
- The Planner timeline has received yet another update making it a lot speedier affair.
- You can now sign in with your Toggl account.

Nice and shiny, isn't it?
A sneak peek into further developments – we are going to release brand new Basecamp Next integration real soon so look forward to this announcement. Just to remind you – the latest roadmap can always be found in our Knowledge Base.

We have released a new version today featuring CSV export of your timeline view. Data in CSV is similar to print view and there are three options for selecting time: current week, historic tasks or future tasks. Head over to your account settings to have a look:

We also take your privacy very seriously and now it is possible to leave an account, if you do not want to be a part of it anymore. Head over to our Knowledge Base for instructions. It is also possible to close your Planner account altogether – why would you like to do that, though?
As always there have been small improvements to overall look and feel of Planner, making it a better tool altogether. If you spot any issues or would like to request a new feature, just let us know through the feedback.
Happy planning!
We have updated Planner with new and exciting features. I’d like to start off with the most obvious – the Timeline has received numerous updates which speed up the loading, making Planner even nicer tool to use. Also the task popup has received a makeover which makes it behave better – it used to go behind the edge of the screen sometimes.
Another updated feature of Planner is the Google sign-in. You can now move the credentials to another account, disable or enable it at will – just check our knowledge base for more information.

The final update this time is the account edit. You can now change the name of your account and tune the options for public view. Link to public view can now be regenerated or disabled. Our knowledge base has more information on that feature as well.
New week brings to Planner the long-requested ability to manage clients. Now you can see the list when you head to the Settings menu. You are able to edit a client or even delete a client, if you so wish. In client view you can also see all the associated projects or even add a new one. Please note that deleting a client does not delete associated projects.

Also featuring this week – the Print view. You can access this from the Timeline view by clicking the print-button as shown below:

Print view is essentially an agenda view that displays people and assigned tasks per day. People are color-coded to differentiate them better in case you have a color printer. The range displayed in the Print view is the same you had in the Timeline view. Also only the selected group is displayed. And if you have hidden weekends in your Planner settings those will not be shown either.
Other improvements include:
- Fixed groups management with Google Chrome
- Usability and visual improvements for IE9
- iCal feed now displays sub-tasks
As always, please let us know what you think through feedback! And just to remind you, you can get a glimpse of what we’re working on in our Knowledge Base.
Hello all planners!
New year brought some notable improvements to Planner UI. First, we have completed updating visuals of all pages within Planner to reflect the new look. For new users there are completely revamped public pages which should better describe what Planner is about. When you sign up for a new account you’ll see some initial tasks to help you get started so I recommend having a go at it.

For existing users there are some notable improvements as well:
- Totally transformed profile page with better overview of accounts and read-only URL-s.
- Updated visuals for settings-pages.
- Updated feedback page.
- Updated printouts for invoices and payment receipts.
- Lots of small usability and visual improvements throughout Planner!
And for the future we have compiled a short lists of functionality that is in the pipeline of being implemented. Head over to our Knowledge Base and take a look. You are all free to send us feedback if you want something else to be added or want to give your vote on existing items.
Cheers,
Krister
We have updated the team view in Planner – head over to the Settings menu to take a look! Here’s the short summary.

First, we have brought in the familiar Planner drag and drop functionality. You can now drag people around to set them in order. This order will be used in the timeline and groups view eventually (not at the moment, though). The new look is more consistent with other parts of Planner and work is underway with other Settings menu items as well.
As before we have two sets of team members – full access team members and read-only team members. You can invite people to your team as full access members or you can add read-only team members freely. You can also drag people between two lists. Please check our Knowledge Base article for specifics!
In addition to the team view some other bits in Planner were changed:
- Improved Basecamp integration.
- Improved timeline usability.
- Improved task detail functionality.
- Further IE9-related improvements.
- Fixed several issues with Toggl integration.
As always, we are happy to receive any feedback.
We are happy to introduce the new task detail window with much improved sub-tasks handling and display. You can check it out in Planner Knowledge Base and see it in action in Planner.
Other improvements to Planner include:
- Timeline header date grouping is depending on screen size.
- Task hover in Timeline displays all sub-tasks not done yet.
- Fixed issues with adding new tasks in timeline view.
- Toggl integration now takes care of deleting obsolete projects Planner-side.
- Basecamp integration should be more reliable.
As always, we are waiting for your feedback!
As the next big thing in Planner we are very happy to introduce Basecamp integration. Head over to our Knowledge Base to see how to set up the sync – and let us know what you think about it!
We are waiting for your feedback to further improve the Basecamp integration so it would be even more useful for you. Also, we are looking for ideas on what other tools could be integrated with Planner so don’t be shy.
To make Planner even nicer and more convenient to use we have now updated the timeline visuals to better match the new groups’ functionality. Other pages will be updated in the following weeks. The most notable improvements are:
- New header to match groups page.
- Improved handling and readability of tasks.
- Clicking on a task name will take you straight to the task edit.
- Floating backlog to help planning long user lists.
- Current day is marked in the timeline view.
Please note that there are a couple of issues with IE9 currently. We’ll be releasing a new version shortly to sort these out.
After some quiet time after the last release we are proud to present a major improvement to Planner – Groups.

Major motivation to add this feature was to allow changing the order of people within the timeline and also to limit timeline view for a specific people – a group – at a time. You can get all the how-to-information from our Knowledge Base. Groups give you a glimpse of a new look of Planner, making it more usable and pleasing to look at.
Other improvements include:
- Better support for IE9
- Pointing (hovering) on short tasks will display their whole description
- Improved task dragging when you have hidden the weekends
- Changing role of a user (from full-access member to read-only user and the other way around).
As always, we appreciate all feedback so tell us what you think!
